Some Healthy Breakfast Options | Right & Wrong Combinations | Doctor Prasoon – Video

Hey guys, I’m doctor Prasoon. When we sleep, we are actually fasting for seven to eight hours and breakfast is considered as the most important meal of the day. They say that you should eat your breakfast like a king. But most of the time what happens is that, due to the lack of time and due to the lack of awareness, most people have a habit of choosing or resorting to unhealthy breakfast habits, and that’s why in this video I am going to tell you some healthy breakfast options, some healthy recipes and I will also tell you some breakfast that you should be avoiding. This is Dofody. So let’s get started.

The first option is Idli and sambar combination. It is a very popular breakfast dish in South India. The deficiency of important essential amino acids, such as methionine and lysine is compensated by adding black lentils when we prepare the batter for Idli and dosas. When this is combined with an antioxidant-rich curry such as a sambar, it becomes the perfect breakfast option for you.
The next option is steamed rice cakes along with chana or dhal curry. Instead of rice cakes, you can also use wheat cakes. you can prepare rotis with wheat, chapatis and use it with dal curry. If you are a non-vegetarian you can have eggs, fish curry or even meat along with rice cakes, dosas, rotis, and chappathis. Take note to include at least a handful of fresh sliced fruits such as bananas mangos, apples, oranges anything that you can find seasonally fresh in your area, You should be adding that to your breakfast.

If you can’t find fruits every day, you can prepare vegetable salads. So there are two types of vegetables:- those that are rich in starch and the other ones which are not so rich in starch. Starch rich vegetables such as tapioca, potatoes should not be used for preparing salads and instead you should be using non-starchy vegetables such as carrots, cucumber, and beans. Your breakfast will be incomplete without a drink. Add one glass of milk or unsweetened tea or any beverage of your choice. So these were some other healthy breakfast options that you should consider.
Now let us see what are the breakfast options that you should be avoiding. Avoid puris, because they are prepared by deep fry. Avoid combinations which include potatoes or starchy vegetables along with rotis and rice cakes or dosas. Because these combinations only provides more and more carbohydrates and you will not be getting enough fats and proteins. So avoid combinations like roti and potatoes, roti and potato curry, dosa and potato, roti and tapioca, Those kind of combinations you should be avoiding. Because of the busy mornings, most of the people do not find time to prepare the breakfast. So they resort to ready-made options such as bread and cornflakes. Now you can have these options once in every two weeks. But resorting to these ready-made packaged food items on a daily basis is not at all recommended.
Avoid added extra sugars, such as chocolate mixes, for example, Nutella, jams and other chocolate preparations. Instead you can prepare butter in your home. You can even prepare homemade peanut butter and use it as a spread. Vadas are very famous and popular in South India. But these are also prepared by deep-frying, Stay away from them. Please do not use what else as your breakfast, and lastly noodles, pastas, pizzas and macaronis which are very easy to cook.
